All Time Favorite Songs
Play this playlist at my funeral reception or celebration of life
In some ways, this playlist IS a representation of my life. I can see scenes and snapshots of it as I listen to each of these songs because of the lyrics, beat, or even the person that shared it with me.
Of course I loved Pokemon, but Viridian City especially resonates because of the idea that one of the near-end goals is right by Home. The 80s and 90s rock influence are the cherry on top.
Simple Plan, Yellowcard, and JoJo completely captured the teenage angst I felt, especially in the early half of high school.
My sister and I bonded over Queen Bey and Destiny's Child during our summers in the Philippines. We didn't have MTV here at home, so if they came on the TV during those relaxing summers in the PI we never changed the channel.
I discovered K-Pop in college as I spent more time on Youtube and I've dabbled in it every since. "Gee" by Girls' Generation was the one that kicked it off.
I made some really great friends in college, and they got me into the wonderful world of Japanese Hip Hop with m-flo. Those songs also got me through my senior project working on the art for Divergent Shift
The bops of the early 2010s like "Clarity", "Fireflies", and "Super Bass" remind me so fondly of my entrance to the work force and the late nights I got to share with my friends in our early 20s.
Marianas Trench songs served as the background to my experience at Blizzard and perfectly reflect my time there. A little bit melancholy but so fun at the same time.
I am not the biggest BTS fan, but the Tiny Desk video of "Dynamite" and the subsequent release of "Butter" accompanied the first year I married my wife.
One of my favorite things about life is that I do have this soundtrack for it. I hope to add more to it as time goes on. If any get added I'll update this post!
